Discography

Albums

Use a clean vertical list or two-column grid of album cards. Each card should be visually consistent and easy to duplicate for new releases.

  • Cover thumbnail (top left): Square image (1:1) aligned to the left of the card. This is the primary visual anchor.
  • Title & year (top right): Place the album title in bold, with the year in lighter text just below or beside it.
  • Description (middle): 1–2 short sentences summarizing the sound, concept, or era of the album.
  • Key tracks (middle, small list): A compact list of 2–4 notable songs, e.g. “Key tracks: Track One, Track Two, Track Three”.
  • Streaming / purchase icons (bottom right): A horizontal row of small icons (play, link, platform logos) aligned to the bottom right of the card. Keep them monochrome or minimal for a modern look.
  • Card spacing: Use consistent padding, subtle borders or shadows, and equal vertical spacing between cards so the layout remains scannable.

To add a new album, duplicate an existing card and update the cover, title, year, description, key tracks, and icon links.

EPs

Structure EP cards to mirror the album layout so the entire discography feels unified.

  • Cover thumbnail (top left): Slightly smaller than album covers if desired, but keep the same aspect ratio.
  • Title & year (top right): Bold EP title with year beneath; optionally add a small “EP” label for clarity.
  • Description (middle): 1–2 sentences focusing on mood, theme, or recording context.
  • Key tracks (middle, compact list): 2–3 standout songs listed inline or as a short bullet list.
  • Streaming / purchase icons (bottom right): Same icon row pattern as albums (e.g., play icon, Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp). Place them in the same position on every card.
  • Consistent grid: Arrange EP cards in a simple vertical stack or a two-column grid under the “EPs” heading.

Duplicating an EP card and editing the text fields keeps the section easy to maintain.

Singles

Singles can use a slimmer card layout to stay compact while remaining consistent with albums and EPs.

  • Cover thumbnail (left edge): Small square or circle thumbnail aligned to the far left.
  • Title & year (next to cover): Single title in bold with the year in smaller text on the same line or just below.
  • Short description (one line): A single sentence describing the vibe, collaboration, or release context.
  • Key tracks (optional for singles): If the single has remixes or B-sides, list 2–3 versions as key tracks.
  • Streaming icons (right edge): A tight row of small icons aligned to the far right of each row (e.g., play, Spotify, YouTube). This keeps the layout very scannable on desktop and mobile.
  • List layout: Use a clean vertical list with subtle dividers between singles for quick scanning.

Collaborations

Collaboration cards should highlight both the release and the featured artists while matching the visual style of other categories.

  • Cover thumbnail (top left): Same size and position as albums/EPs for consistency.
  • Title, role & year (top right): Show the track or project title, your role (e.g., “feat.”, “producer”, “remix”), and the year.
  • Description (middle): 1–2 sentences describing the collaboration, including key artists and any notable context.
  • Key tracks (middle): List 2–4 collaborative songs or versions, especially if part of a larger project.
  • Streaming / purchase icons (bottom right): Same icon row as other categories, with consistent size and spacing.
  • Grouping: Use a vertical list or grid under the “Collaborations” heading, keeping card widths and spacing identical to Albums and EPs.

By reusing the same card structure across Albums, EPs, Singles, and Collaborations, you ensure a modern, scannable discography where new releases can be added simply by duplicating and updating each item block.
